Connor Downs, Cornwall The site off the main route through the village is a former green field site surrounded by existing housing and has now been developed by Ocean Housing, a Registered Social Landlord. The layout is broken up into four areas in order to continue the village theme and is set back from the existing road behind a new Cornish Hedge. The development plays a part in delivering much needed affordable housing in this area of Cornwall on the outskirts of Hayle. The scheme attained the Eco Homes Very Good award and was certified Secured by Design. A further innovation in the scheme was the use of MMC and off site fabrication which involved using timber framed construction manufactured locally in Cornwall. The design of the elevations is taken from the local Cornish vernacular to provide local distinctiveness and character. |
