St Catherines The site on the outskirts Fowey is part of a former, under-used carpark surrounded by existing housing, allotments and fields and has now been developed by Ocean Housing, a Registered Social Landlord. The development consists of 7 new dwellings, a mixture of houses and flats, designed by ADG. The layout is set out into two South facing terraces following the natural contours of the land and is set back from the existing road behind trees and shrubs. The scheme attained the Code for Sustainable Homes level 3 award incorporating high levels of insulation and air source heating. The scheme was also certified Secured by Design and complies with the Lifetime Homes standards. A further innovation in the scheme was the use of MMC and off site fabrication which involved using timber framed construction manufactured locally in Cornwall. The design of the elevations is taken from the local Cornish vernacular to provide local distinctiveness and character. |
