SWRDA Offices The brief for the new headquarter offices for the South West RDA required the space planning of an existing two floors of a 1980’s office block, to house in the region of 8 different office teams comprising of approximately 50 staff members. The client needed a comprehensive and imaginative design philosophy for the entire project, this originates in the generation of a sweeping curved gallery wall, which terminates at the entrance to the main boardroom space. The curved wall segregates the public reception from the private executive suites, whilst allowing the free circulation of air and natural light through the spaces, it also acted as a design generator for the other office spaces. The gallery space itself was also designed to be subdivided by a sliding glass screen, which in turn creates a semi-private exhibition space, immediately accessed from the boardroom and also maintains the public reception. |
