St Pauls Church

St Paul’s, in Efford Lane, Plymouth, is a new Anglican church which combines a place of worship with community facilities. It stands 100 metres from the site of the old church which was demolished for the regeneration of the area. The latest church has been designed in close consultation with local parishioners.

ADG is proud to have created a building which should serve at the heart of Efford’s community life, catering for local groups of all ages while still fulfilling a spiritual role with regular services as well as family occasions such as weddings and baptisms.

St Paul’s has been equipped with full kitchen facilities to cater for the many groups intending to use its community hall. It has also been constructed to exacting environmental standards with very high levels of insulation, underfloor heating and low energy lighting. An external cross was commissioned by the Church from local sculptor Penny Hardy, who also works in ADG’s graphics department.

"Our Church Oversight Group has worked closely with ADG to give its input on the design and construction so we are looking forward to occupying a building which has been tailor-made to our needs. We’re hoping to welcome all our regular community groups to use the facilities as well as attracting some new ones."
