Methodist Central Hall ADG were appointed to modernise the interior of this large city centre church. The first phase of this development required a radical transformation of the sanctuary and a refurbishment of the entrance foyer. The sloping cinema style floor and fixed tip up seats were removed and replaced with a flat floor, flexible storage and raised choir area. The new design also incorporated a new organ screen and large projection screen supported by arched steel beams. A unique sculpture was commissioned from artist Penny Hardy for the foyer. The overall effect is contemporary and colourful, yet calm and respectful. |
