Plymbridge Nursery ADG were challenged to make the most of a limited budget, and small site. The site is confined by a mature treed hedge bank, and by a small woodland area, part of which were incorporated in the new secure playspace. To the front of the building we developed a new suite of family support and staff spaces. These are easily accessible from the remodelled and secure main entrance, which includes a canopy to protect waiting parents from the rain, an enlarged and welcoming ‘foyer’ space to serve the new facility, as well as a new creche/toy library. The whole facility is now on one level, and is designed to comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, particularly relevant in this setting. "Having worked for several years within the confines of the original nursery, we have been able to develop our services first and respond to just what was needed by parents, carers and children. ADG have done a fantastic job of interpreting and designing our nursery school and childrens centre based on the needs of our children and families."
