Woodford Primary School Woodford Schools consists of separate Junior and Infants schools built adjacent to each other. The project was an exciting opportunity to create a new shared staff room and training facility for both schools in a central location. Built initially as a standalone building, the longer-term vision is to physically link the two schools together with the staff room at the centre. The staff room is internally finished with accent colours that maximise the sense of space within and uses Rockpanel Chameleon, a contemporary colour changing cladding material, that boldly locates it within the school grounds. Internally it can be divided by a large folding wall, which allows it to change and adapt to the needs of the schools for both staff recreational use and training. The staff room project was combined on site with 2 additional building projects requiring collaboration and co-ordination between separate design teams working with a single contractor. This process whilst relatively unusual ensured that the disruption to the school was carefully managed and minimised. |
