Yealmpstone Farm Primary School The existing Plympton Montesorri Nursery was based in an old temporary hut within the grounds of Yealmpstone Farm Primary School. The school and Plymouth City Council wished to provide a new 26 place standalone nursery building and re-landscaped external areas following the demolition of the old building. Using a small steel frame the building was designed with 2 main nursery spaces that can be altered and adapted in the future should the nursery’s needs and requirements change. The project required careful planning and programming with the team and contractor to work closely with the school on a site in the heart of the school grounds adjacent to the main entrance. The project was phased with the new building completed first to allow the old building to be demolished and subsequently re-landscaped to provide external play areas. |
