Osprey Quay Following completion of a masterplan for the Castle Court site ADG were commissioned by Sutton Harbour Holdings Ltd to prepare a detailed planning application which was submitted December 2007. The site formerly used as an officer’s mess by the Royal Navy will bring together a number of new buildings arranged around a large landscaped public courtyard. The completed development will include residential apartments, a hotel and pub/restaurant, a permanent training base for the Royal Yachting Association, self catering accommodation to serve the local sailing community and visitors to the area, retail, restaurants, cafes, office accommodation and workshop units for marine sector employers such as boat builders and sail makers. The first phase, the RYA Building, was completed in November 2009. A mixed use development on the island of Portland which exemplified in creating a public space within a collection of different building forms that formed a defined sense of place. The requirement for BREEAM Excellent in all building forms led to the use of sustainable design proposals and the creation of bespoke criteria and studies to satisfy the required standards. ADG worked closely with the design team, including M&E and sustainability consultants, throughout the design stages to ensure that the BREEAM requirements are achieved. |
