The Bay, Talland Bay ADG were commissioned to master plan and design four two contemporary two, three and four bedroom ’year round’ holiday homes on the site of an existing caravan park. The site has views over looking the picturesque Talland Bay within a designated area of Heritage coastline and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the site also has direct access to the south west coastal path. The master plan was developed in conjunction with an extensive landscaping proposal that followed initial landscape analysis work and sensitive negotiations with the local planning authority. Three unit types were designed to blend harmoniously with their particular surroundings, each using a different combination of local materials, construction methods and forms to respond to the landscape context. Each unit is designed to make maximum use of light within the property and all living areas open on to large private external decks that make the most of the stunning views. Due to the sensitive nature of this site, significant adverse publicity and the many site constraints detailed negotiations were required with planning officers to ensure successful planning approval. This enabled our client to successfully market the site and enabled expansion of the business on the site. |
