1950s Style Cafe The Café was designed to be a free standing cafe unit within the large open plan space of a covered market. There were a number of design challenges, which included the need to make this space open and welcoming, but at the same time cosy and intimate enough for the customers. Authentic American diner booths were shipped in. It was designed to be demountable if necessary to allow market layout maximum flexibility for the future. The design was inspired by the 50s listed interior of the pannier market. The café has already exceeded projected turnover in the early weeks - without taking business from the markets’ other cafes. |
