Trewenna ADG were appointed in the autumn of 2009 to transform a neglected 2 bedroom bungalow in the village of Trebetherick into a 5 bedroom holiday home for the De Bono family. The simple brief to create a large open plan day room maximising the views and benefit of the light from the East facing garden elevation has been fully realised. A simple palate of white render, stained timber boarding and grey powder aluminium windows created a relaxed unpretentious façade which is enhanced by a new slate pitched roof with a lead roof projecting over the bedrooms. The aluminium rainwater goods maintain the quality of materials. The folding sliding screen and terrace that extends the dayroom into the garden maximises the fabulous view that looks toward St Minver and fills the room with morning sunshine. The works were completed within a tight budget in partnership with a local building contractor. ADG provided a full design service from concept through to handover.
